Currently (and for the past half hour at least) there is a man playing the tuba outside. Well, not so much "playing" as just "making noise with." I have no idea why, but there is definitely booze involved. Unless that was a bottle of apple juice he was swigging. (I have my doubts.)
Anyway, I realize it's been awhile since I've updated. Maybe later tonight I'll come back and fill y'all in on my trips to both the Alps and the Côte d'Azur. Stay tuned.

About this Blog
The name of this blog - "Gatzing Out" - is a reference to F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby. (Maybe you've heard of it.) I decided to name my blog after it because I think Fitzgerald is a literary genius and The Great Gatsby is the pinnacle of American literature.
NOT.
In fact, I was forced to read The Great Gatsby in high school and I came to the conclusion that Jay Gatsby is...how to put this nicely? Psychotic. He is constantly overreacting to everything ("Whoa, there, old sport!") - and so my friends and I invented the phrase "to gatz out," meaning "to overreact/freak out about something on a Jay Gatsby level." Over time, the phrase has stuck, and my friends and I still use it regularly...thus, the title "Gatzing Out."
